Family run since 2001

Twenty five years working the same ground

Stauffer Lawn & Landscape is a local, family run and owned business. It has been providing lawn and landscape services to Topeka and the surrounding areas since 2001, out of a shop at 1150 Washington Street in Auburn.

The stated aim has not changed in that time: unparalleled originality, quality and service across everything a property needs above the soil and below it. Over the years the company has put together a management team of college graduates who are experienced, qualified people in lawn care, landscaping and plant care rather than a crew that learned it on the way past.

Twenty five years in one market changes how a company works. The crews know which streets sit on the heaviest clay, which developments have drainage that was never right, and which plants have quietly failed across three subdivisions. That is not something a contractor arriving from out of town has.

How the work is organised

One company, both halves of the property

Most landscape firms do construction or they do maintenance. Stauffer has always done both, and they are run out of the same office. The practical result is that the people who built your wall are the people mowing past it in August, so problems get seen early rather than reported by the customer.

Plant material is sourced locally and brought in weekly. Irrigation is built from Rain Bird and Hunter Industries parts. Hardscape is natural stone, Unilock pavers and segmental concrete block, installed to the standard the company is certified to.

Licences and memberships

What the company is actually certified to do

Chemical application, irrigation tie ins and backflow all carry legal requirements in Kansas, and paver and wall systems carry manufacturer ones. This is the full list. Ask to see any of it.

Working with Stauffer

Start with someone standing on the ground

Whether it is a wall, a patio or a lawn that has stopped cooperating, the first step is the same. Someone comes out, walks the property, and looks at the drainage before anything else.
